Our Living Hope
The dictionary defines hope as "to desire with expectation of obtainment or fulfillment." We often experience discouragement, depression, or despair when our hopes are unmet. How can we remain hopeful in this broken world? First, we must remember that our confidence comes from our relationship with Jesus. We have been born again into a living hope through His resurrection victory. As redeemed followers of Christ, we are new creations; we’re no longer prisoners to this world of sin and death. With the Holy Spirit dwelling in us, we are co-heirs with our living Savior.
Friends, through the empty tomb, God has “given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus,” along with grace for each new day of our earthly journey to eternity. As God's redeemed children, we should not react to our trials as the world does. We are called to live by faith "with confidence in what we hope for" (Hebrews 11:1). When the darkness of this world or the dreariness of doubt begins to overwhelm us, we should place our hope and focus on Jesus. Look for encouragement in God's Word and remember His promises in Christ Jesus. Jesus has promised to be with us to the end of the ages; He alone is our living hope and eternal hope. Thanks be to God; He is risen indeed!
Onward and Upward +
