Our Living Hope!
Do you or someone you know feel hopeless today? Hope is defined as "to desire with expectation of obtainment or fulfillment." Hope is a belief or expectation that something will occur. How does one remain hopeful in this dark world of pain, sorrow, and suffering? First, we must remember the reason for our confidence is our relationship with Jesus! We have been born again into a living hope in Jesus' Resurrection victory. As Jesus redeemed followers, we are new creations, no longer prisoners to this world of sin, sorrow, and death. With the Holy Spirit dwelling in us, we are co-heirs with our living Savior.
Friends, God has given us a living hope in Jesus, and He also gives us grace for each day of our earthly journey to eternity. As the redeemed, we shouldn't react to our trials as the world does. Instead, we are to live by faith "with confidence in what we hope for" (Heb. 11:1). So, when this dark world of doubt and despair becomes overwhelming, remember to place your hope in our Risen Savior. His radiant light has overcome the darkness. Remember His promises and seek hope and encouragement in God's Holy Word. Our Risen Savior has promised to be with us to the end of the ages; he alone is our living hope and eternal hope. Thanks be to God; he is Risen Indeed!
Eastertide Blessings,
Fr. Greg
