Worthy of Our Worship Everyone seems to worship something or someone, for one reason or another. The question is not whether we worship, but what or whom we worship. It could be fame or fortune, power or prestige, a person or a purpose, someone or something we believe is greater than ourselves. Someone or something, that will bring us hope, peace, joy, love, and satisfaction. Someone or something, that we believe is superior to us, that we are willing to surrender and submit ourselves to. But in reality, it only reveals our deep need for that someone, who Created us, who is Above us, is Beyond us, yet Loves us and Cares for us. The Psalmist invites us to, "Come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker." He wants us to recognize the superiority and sufficiency of our Creator. Once we acknowledge God as our Creator, we can recognize Him as the source of all that we have or ever will have. Worship will then become God-centered, not creature, or thing-centered. Worship results in submitting our lives to God and recognizing His grace and sovereignty, as we bow before Him in awe and adoration for all He does for us. Friends, wise men still seek Jesus! Wise men still bow before Him, still submit to Him, and Obey Him! The world might be careless and unbelieving, but we should never be ashamed to bow down and worship our King of Kings, and Lord of Lords! Happy New Year, Fr. Greg+
