Worthy of Our Worship!
Everyone seems to worship something or someone! The question is not whether we worship but what or whom we worship. It could be fame or fortune, power or prestige, a person, or a purpose. It could be someone or something we believe is more significant than ourselves. It could be someone or something that will bring us hope, peace, joy, love, and satisfaction. Our desire to worship reveals our deep need for the one, who created us, is above us, is beyond us, yet loves and cares for us.
The Psalmist once said, “Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker (Psm. 95:6).” He wanted us to recognize and humbly offer praise to our creator God. Friends, once we acknowledge God as our creator, we can recognize Him as the source of all we have or ever will. Our worship then becomes God-centered, not creature, or thing-centered. Worship results in submitting our lives to God and recognizing His grace and holiness with awe and adoration for all He does for us. Wise men still seek Jesus! Wise men still bow before Him and worship Him! As you embark into the new year, bow down, give thanks, and worship our King of Kings, and Lord of Lords!
Happy New Year,
Fr. Greg+
