​Our Help and Hope!
Are you looking for renewed hope as we begin a new year? The Apostle Paul provides a three-point reminder of the source of our help and hope in this passage. The reminders in this verse apply to every situation or circumstance we will ever encounter on this side of eternity. Paul reminds us our divine help and hope must rest in the Lord. We know that He alone promises to never leave or forsake us; that, along with His promise of heaven, should always give us reason to rejoice. This life verse also reminds us we must patiently rest in God’s sovereign control and perfect timing.
Friends, the secret to patiently rejoicing in hope through all the hurts, hang-ups, and hardships of this life resides in a healthy prayer life. Paul reminds us to pray continually! We are so blessed to be able to communicate with the God of the universe, yet we often fail or forget to use that privilege. God wants to hear our hearts; He wants a personal relationship with us! He wants to comfort and empower us through our days. Constant dialogue with our Lord is the secret! Take advantage of our divine access and remain steadfast in prayer! Press into God and let Him renew and increase your hope daily. Ask Him for patience in tribulations and allow Him to deepen your desire to communicate with Him through your fears, tears, and joys. Christ alone is our help in ages past and our hope in the years to come!
