Our Advent Peace!
It often seems peace is difficult to come by during this busy holiday season. There are work deadlines, events and family gatherings that seem to rob us of peace daily. We often try to find peace in between the busyness of our lives in those brief moments before and after that next thing on the to-do list. Many people spend their entire lives trying to find peace. Unfortunately, true peace cannot be achieved or explained in a self-help book or with a few simple steps. No, true peace can only be received from God.
Friends, instead of passing moments of peace, God has promised us peace everlasting - shalom. Shalom is the Hebrew word for peace, but not a temporary worldly peace that’s found in those fleeting in-between moments in our lives. It is a spiritual peace found in being made whole again. That constant peace is only found in a relationship! During this second week of Advent, we are reminded that true peace is found in Jesus, our Prince of Peace! So, trust in the Lord, keep your eyes focused on Jesus, and let His perfect peace fill your heart, mind, and soul on your Advent journey to Christmas!
The Advent Peace of the Lord be with you!
