God's Advent Love!
There is probably no word that is more misunderstood or diminished in its significance and meaning than “LOVE.” We know love involves feelings, but it is much more than feelings. We know love includes emotions, but emotions are often abused and misused. We know love includes sentiment, but it is far more than sentimental desires, which fluctuate daily. As we all know, our feelings, emotions, and sentiments can change from moment to moment. However, “God’s Love,” His unlimited, unconditional love, never changes. That kind of love should always be observed and expressed in our lives as His children.
Friends, as God’s children, when we have questions about how we should demonstrate “God’s Love,” we need only look at the life of Jesus and meditate on God’s words. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” That kind of unconditional love initiated by God and demonstrated in the life of Jesus should be seen in and through our lives. “God’s Love” should be the foundation of our relationship with Him and all others. So, as we walk in the light of the last Advent candle, let us demonstrate “God’s Advent Love” in this dark world. Let us rejoice in the true meaning of God’s Love, found in the Christ Child that we celebrate this week.
