Just Believe!
Are you facing something that seems impossible? Are you seeking or reaching for a miracle today? Once, a distressed and desperate synagogue ruler named Jairus pleaded with Jesus to come to his house. His young daughter was dying, and He knew only the Lord could heal her. Our ever-accessible Savior, full of compassion, went with him, but along the way, a woman with a chronic disease "came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment" (Mark 5:27). Recognizing her touch of faith, Jesus stopped to heal her. It was at that moment that Jairus received the news that his daughter had died. Sensing his deep despair, Jesus said, "Don’t be afraid; just believe."
Friends, at times, it may appear useless to keep believing. In those desperate moments, we often take things into our own hands. We might even wonder what the use is in believing? At that moment, we're often defeated, yet it's at that moment that victory is within reach. Never forget, we have an ever-available, accessible Savor we can call on when things seem impossible. So, if you're feeling discouraged and ready to give up remember these words I once heard from a wise old man years ago, "Son, don't quit before the miracle happens!” Friends, Jesus is still in the miracle business! So keep reaching out in faith, and keep believing! Our Savior is still stopping the bleeding, still curing the incurable, and still raising the dead to eternal life.
