No Greater Love!
Memorial Day marks the start of summer; sunny days, warm nights, and joyful family gatherings for countless Americans. Unfortunately, many fail to stop and reflect on the deeper meaning of this day. We must reflect on the brave willingness of men and women who answered our nation’s highest call, knowing the risks they faced, yet willing to lay down their lives to protect and defend this nation we love. What extraordinary examples of service over self. On this solemn day, may we thankfully remember those who lost their lives defending our freedom. Their heroic sacrifices have guaranteed the religious and civil liberties we enjoy today.
As Christians, we are not alone in this battle against the world, the flesh, and the devil. We fight in the Lord because the battle and victory are His. On this Memorial Day, let us remember with deep gratitude and profound reverence the brave men and women who fought and died for us to enjoy the freedom we know today. And let us never forget or take for granted the most significant sacrifice ever made for mankind by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who said in his Last Supper discourse, “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” Thanks to all our Gold Star families, and thank you, Lord Jesus!
