Finding Forgiveness!
Are you or someone you know harboring unforgiveness? If so, you can't expect others to forgive you. Forgiveness is a busy two-way street! Let's face it: we all reap what we sow. A man once came to John Wesley and said, "I could never forgive that person." Wesley said, "Then I hope you never sin. When you are unforgiving, you're burning the bridge you must walk across." When we can't forgive others, we are setting ourselves up for unforgiveness, and Lord knows we all need His forgiveness daily. When someone says they can't forgive another, I realize they don't really understand what forgiveness is all about.
Friends, forgiveness is not minimizing an offense. To forgive someone doesn't mean the wrong doesn't hurt or that trust is instantly restored. Trust must be rebuilt over time. If a fractured relationship is going to be restored, the offender must repent, offer restitution where possible, and then rebuild trust over time. This process may take some time, but it's a journey worth taking for restoration and peace of mind. If you are harboring resentment or unforgiveness, let it go! Don't let someone live rent-free in your head and rob you of your peace. It's time to forgive and forget and then move forward. Don't harbor or withhold, what we all must depend on. Let go, and let Godly forgiveness renew and restore you today!
Onward and Upward+
