Wandering and Wondering
Are you wandering from God due to some poor decisions in your past? Countless souls are fleeing from past or present people, places, or things all around us. The truth is, it’s impossible to completely escape most of them. However, the good news in today’s message is, we can never outrun God’s love, mercy, or forgiveness. This well-known parable tells us that once the wayward son’s wandering brought him to the end of himself, he “came to his senses” and returned home to find his father eagerly wondering and waiting for him.
Friends, we can never outdistance God’s love for us, no matter how far our poor choices may lead us from His presence. This parable reveals that when we reset our sights toward our Father’s house, He is watching and waiting for our return. Once the prodigal son ran out of resources and reason, he knew where to go! “So he set out and came to his father. But when he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion for him and ran and embraced him and kissed him.” We must never think we’ve wandered beyond God’s love. Don’t listen to the lies of the enemy! Our heavenly Father is always ready to forgive and receive us back into his arms. So, stop wandering and wondering and return to His unconditional love.
Onward and Upward +
