Answering The Call
As we begin Fall, is God calling you to a new season in life? Do you feel tired or too old for a new adventure? Well, as long as we have breath and are willing to serve God, He isn't done with us. Abraham's call to a new journey came late in life, and he couldn't imagine the blessing God promised him. God told him, "I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse, and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."
When Abraham answered God's call he was old and his name was Abram, which means "Exalted Father," yet he was childless. God, however, had a new life planned for him, a season that would bless him beyond his wildest dreams. God changed his name to Abraham, which means "Father of Many Nations." What a great reminder that our lives can still be transformed in ways we can't imagine when we are willing to answer God's call. So, don't be afraid to answer His call; it's never too late to embark on a new journey. As C.S. Lewis once said, "You are never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream." Abraham's faith journey is our journey! So, remain faithful and trust in the Lord. The best can still be yet to come!
